My Background

Helaine Soller is an environmental artist, painter, photographer, curator and art activist. Her contemporary expressionist art combines realism and abstraction revealing intimate views of nature captured at a moment in time to create awareness of our fragile ecosystems.

Soller's work has been shown nationally and internationally in museums, galleries, corporations, colleges, and universities. Her work is in the collections of Library of Congress and the National Museum of Women in the Arts Archives, MSKCC Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital first permanent collection and the law firm of SMSM Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney Ltd. has several of her works in their collection.

Helaine Soller a native of New York City, holds degrees from Pratt Institute, BFA in Advertising Design and Queens College, MS in Art Education, studied with Jacob Lawrence at the New School, and in master classes with Eric Fischl and Jerome Witkin.

Soller attended the Weir Farm National Historic Site Art Residency and (9) Summer-Six Art Residencies

in Saratoga Springs NY. Helaine Soller, Executive Coordinator of WIA Women In the Arts Foundation Inc. 2011-2025, originated the NEA grant series WIA “Business of Art for Artists” a series of 18 lectures and workshops. Soller curates art exhibits including 71-21 Five Decades of Women In the Arts Foundation, Inc. at Ceres Gallery, is the programs and event coordinator of WIA. She has conducted art workshops at the Queens Botanical Gardens,

the Queens Museum and Voelker Orth Museum. Formerly an award-winning Art Director of the American Institute of Physics.
